Egg-seed dispensers were a type of device consisting of a metallic gray disc-shaped base with a cylindrical protrusion of matching color extending from its center. They dispensed egg-seed. When a group led by Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn visited junk dealer Watto's junkshop in the city of Mos Espa on the planet Tatooine in search of a T-14 hyperdrive generator[1] in 32 BBY,[2] Watto had an egg-seed dispenser located next to his nest in the top of the store.[1]
Behind the scenes
An egg-seed dispenser was first mentioned in the 2000 reference book Inside the Worlds of Star Wars: Episode I, which was written by Kristin Lund and illustrated by Richard Chasemore and Hans Jenssen. The illustration of Watto's junkshop from that book,[1] including the egg-seed dispenser, then appeared as an area where players would search out specific items in the[3] 2012[4] non-canon video game Star Wars Galactic Spy.[3]
