The EOD-Mk II explosives disposal armor, known simply as the EOD-Mk II, was a model of explosives disposal suit manufactured by Creshaldyne Industries. It was a heavy, bulky suit designed to protect engineers from blasts, shock, and shrapnel. The armor was composed of overlapping thick plates covered by reinforced polycarbonate mesh. Extra integrated hard plates backed by ballistic gel were also included at the groin, chest, and elbow areas. A single collar of tall, gel-backed hard plates, covered by polycarb mesh, protected the neck, while a sealed, full-face helmet covered the head. The EOD-Mk II did not come with gloves, to maximize an explosives ordnance disposal trooper's dexterity and precision while handling bombs. Due to its thick padding and clumsy form, the EOD-Mk II armor restricted its user's freedom of movement.[1]
