- "To the Imperials, we are dune-rats in our warrens. They cannot hunt without sight, and they are blind to the subtle life of the desert."
- ―A Narkis Anchorite
A dune-rat was a type of rat that lived in warrens in deserts.[1]
In 9 BBY,[2] two Narkis Anchorites within the Archive on the moon Jedha discussed Imperial patrols keeping one of the anchorites awake at night. The other anchorite remarked that the Narkis Anchorites were dune-rats to the Empire, hidden and safe.[1]
In 33 ABY,[3] the scavenger Rey engaged in combat with two thugs attempting to take[4] her[5] scavenged materials on the[4] planet[5] Jakku. After she knocked one thug away with her quarterstaff, their accomplice threatened Rey and referred to her as a "dune-rat."[4]
