The Narkis Anchorites were a group of anchorites that operated on the moon Jedha[1] during the reign of the Galactic Empire.[2] While under the leadership of Jedi Master Cere Junda, the anchorites were tasked with rebuilding the Jedi Archives, which had been destroyed in the Great Jedi Purge. They also helped Master Junda connect with the Hidden Path, a secret network that protected Jedi and other Force-sensitives from the Empire. Through the Hidden Path, Junda reunited with the Stinger Mantis crew and her former master, Eno Cordova,[1] in 9 BBY.[3] However, the location of the Archive was revealed by the Imperial spy Bode Akuna, and the Empire carried out a raid, which all but destroyed the Narkis Anchorites. After the battle, the surviving anchorites were left scattered across the galaxy. Taske was a Narkis Anchorite who ran a small trade shop in the Jedi archive. The Narkis Highlands and the Narkis Desert, which were the location of the Archive, shared their names with the order.[1]
