- "Stewed Dressellian prunes 2.7 credits"
- ―The pricing on Dex's menu for the prunes
Dressellian prunes were a type of edible fruit. The Besalisk chef Dexter Jettster considered stewed Dressellian prunes delicious and served them as a breakfast side dish for 2.7 credits at his eatery Dex's Diner on the planet Coruscant. The diner also served Dressellian prune fruit juice, with a small glass costing 1.75 credits and a large glass costing 2.5 credits.[1] Both offerings including Dressellian prunes were sold at Dex's at some point prior to the destruction of the diner in the first two years of the Galactic Empire's reign.[2] Dressellians were a species with wrinkled skin native to the planet Dressel.[3]
Behind the scenes
Dressellian prunes were first mentioned in the 2009 Hyperspace exclusive article, "Dining at Dex's," which was written by Gregory Walker. The connection, if any, between the prunes and the Dressellians is not made clear in the article itself,[1] although the species was referred to as "prune-face" on the set of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.[4] Walker clarified on his Star Wars Blog that it was indeed a reference to the nickname prune-face. He described the reference as one step up from a bad pun.[5]

- ↑ The Last of the Jedi: Underworld established that Dex's Diner was destroyed by the Galactic Empire. The Essential Reader's Companion later stated that the novel took place around the year 18 BBY. The New Essential Chronology states that the Empire was formed in 19 BBY, so Dex's Diner was destroyed either during 19 BBY or 18 BBY.
