Drabatan Saboteurs were amphibious Drabatan soldiers for the Alliance to Restore the Republic. They fought during the Galactic Civil War against the Galactic Empire, and were known as fierce commandos that charged into combat yelling full-throated war cries at their enemies. These saboteurs utilized boiler rifles and sonic grenades to create micro-fractures in enemy defenses.[1]
In 0 ABY,[2] Drabatan Saboteurs were trained by a rebel cell originating on the planet Tatooine led by Colonel Jennica Pierce against Captain Kosh's Imperial forces. They were stationed across multiple worlds, including Tatooine, Er'Kit, Dandoran, Yavin 4, Sullust, Hoth, and Takodana.[1]
Behind the scenes
Drabatan Saboteurs first appeared in Star Wars: Commander, a 2014 mobile strategy game by Disney Interactive.[1] The unit was introduced in the second wave of content released on December 1, 2016 based on the Anthology Series film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story that released on December 16 of the same year.[3] In the game, Drabatan Saboteurs were bruiser units that could be trained through the cantina by players affiliated with the Rebel Alliance.[1] Concept art for the Drabatan Saboteur was created by Matthew Elser and was based on the Drabatan commando Paodok'Draba'Takat[4] from Rogue One.[5]
