"I probably shouldn't be telling you this, but Captain Donovan was piloting this ship and I want to know what happened to him."
Inspector Cora, to a spacer[1]

Donovan was a Human male CorSec officer and pilot who lived during the Galactic Civil War.

Biography

"I do not know where I am. I was at another camp after they hijacked my ship. Then they moved me here. They have me shackled so I cannot escape."
―Captain Donovan, to a spacer[1]

By the time of the Battle of Yavin, Donovan was a captain of the Corellian Security Force on Corellia.[1]

In 1 ABY,[2] Captain Donovan was delivering weapons to the local CorSec force in Tyrena when his ship was hijacked by the criminals known as the Deflarians.[3] Donovan himself was captured and imprisoned in the Deflarian bunker.[1] The Deflarians then crashed a ship of the same model than Donovan's to cover the theft of the cargo.[3] CorSec Inspector Cora was tasked by Captain Jark to lead the investigation. Cora hired a spacer who managed to find the location of the bunker. The spacer infiltrated the bunker and found the imprisoned Captain Donovan. The spacer therefore killed Vinros, several Deflarian henchmen and a Deflarian underboss to free Donovan.[1] Captain Jark later discovered that Donovan was betrayed by a CorSec agent, Jori, who sold Donovan's flight schedule to the Deflarians.[4]

  2. The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
