- "Looks like we're late again."
- ―Djas Puhr, after losing a bounty
Djas Puhr was a Sakiyan bounty hunter, who had excellent infrared and peripheral vision, as well as a highly developed sense of smell and hearing. His black robes and ebony skin allowed him to disappear into the night; his powerful eyes allowed him to see prey as they slept, even through walls; and his keen sense of smell allowed him to hunt any creature that tried to flee. Puhr often partnered with an Abyssin hunter named Gondry.[3] He was a tracker for Sebulba and an assassin in a slave network employed by Jabba Desilijic Tiure by 32 BBY. In that standard year, Puhr abducted several Ghostling children from the planet Datar for Sebulba. He then tracked a young Anakin Skywalker and his childhood friends, who had reclaimed the several Ghostling children from the clutches of Gardulla Besadii the Elder. Although he failed to capture the young Skywalker, his childhood friends, and the Ghosting children.
Djas remained an active bounty hunter for decades. By 0 BBY, he had developed a reputation as an imposing figure who followed through on his promises.[4]
In 0 BBY Djas Puhr was present in Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina sitting at a table with Muftak, Myo and Lirin Car'n. During the Battle of Yavin, Djas Puhr was still active as a bounty hunter and was regularly hired by Jabba.
