- "If you must know, the Hutts consider this world vital for reasons I care not at all to comprehend. What I do know is that Tatooine has its resources. Dilarium oil. Silicax oxalate."
- ―Lorgan Movellan to Cobb Vanth
Dilarium oil was a type of black oil that was one of the main exports of the Outer Rim planet Tatooine[2] in 3 ABY.[3] It had a low viscosity and was valued at 280 credits per unit.[2] In 5 ABY,[4] the crime lord Lorgan Movellan told the sheriff Cobb Vanth about the Hutt Clan's varying interests in Tatooine. Movellan noted that despite the resources he considered valuable on the planet, such as dilarium oil and silicax oxalate, the Hutts' intrigue was primarily focused on the world's inhabitants.[1]
Behind the scenes
Dilarium oil was mentioned in Aftermath: Empire's End, a 2017 novel written by Chuck Wendig as the third installment in Star Wars: The Aftermath Trilogy.[1] The oil first appeared as an item in the 2024 Massive Entertainment video game Star Wars Outlaws. In the game, the oil could only be sold for credits to vendors, and did not have another function.[2]
