The design regiment was a sub-unit of the Republic Corps of Engineers. Lieutenant Commander Orson Callan Krennic, a member of the corps that was secretly transferred to the Republic Special Weapons Group, was offered a position within the design regiment. Republic Vice Chair Mas Amedda conversed with Krennic on his career, to which Krennic mentioned the design regiment.[1]
