Desert roses were a type of flower used to make desert rose incense that could be found on the Outer Rim planet E'ronoh. At some point during the High Republic Era, the E'roni Princess Xiri A'lbaran watched the first of the roses bloom. While commanding the E'ronoh's fleet's Thylefire Squadron[1] in 382 BBY,[2] A'lbaran thought about the many beautiful things she had witnessed on her homeworld, including watching desert roses flower.[1] Later the same year,[2] after boarding his ship, the Eventide, the Republic envoy Axel Greylark noticed that the interior of his vessel smelled like desert rose incense.[1]
Behind the scenes
Desert roses were mentioned in Convergence, a novel written by Zoraida Córdova as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase II[1] that was published on November 22, 2022. Prior to its release, a mention of the roses was included in a StarWars.com preview for the novel on October 4 of that year.[3]
