Dervis was an individual who served as a major in the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War. The major was part of the Alliance forces stationed in Echo Base on the planet Hoth when it was attacked by the Galactic Empire in 3 ABY.

At the beginning of the battle, infantry under Dervis's command hurried out of the entrance of the base's North Hangar 7 in order reach the base's defensive trenches. Ultimately the Alliance were defeated by the Empire at Hoth, but managed to evacuate many of the base's personnel.[1]

Behind the scenes

In the new Star Wars canon, Derivs was first mentioned in the 2016 reference book Star Wars: Complete Locations, in a section written by James Luceno.[1] The character was originally mentioned in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in the 2004 reference book Inside the Worlds of Star Wars Trilogy, which was also written by Luceno.[2]
