A lightsaber was constructed and wielded by Chalactan Jedi Master Depa Billaba by the time of her ascension to the Jedi High Council.[2] The single-bladed Jedi weapon had a cylindrical gray hilt, a flared blade emitter, and a single blade, alternatively of red[1] or green hue.[3]
During the Yinchorri Uprising, Billaba used a red-bladed lightsaber against Yinchorri raiders of the Jedi Temple[5] in 33 BBY, and, later,[6] on the smuggler's moon Nar Shaddaa in battle with mercenaries, vrblthers,[1] and the akk dogs of Gargonn the Hutt's Circus Horrificus.[4]
Behind the scenes
Depa Billaba's lightsaber first appeared in the seventeenth issue of Dark Horse Comics' Star Wars series, written by Timothy Truman and illustrated by John Nadeau.[1]
