A dental mop was a cooking utensil recommended to be used in the cooking of the creature Smapp. The recipe called for six quarts of viscous butter to be sculpted and then mixed with twelve tubes of Herbs de Lunar Eclipse, all of which was then spread over the creature's body via the dental mop prior to putting it in the oven.[1]

Behind the scenes

Dental mop was mentioned in a one-page recipe titled "Cooking a Smapp," written by Bob Carrau for the 1993 book Monsters and Aliens from George Lucas, a publication that collects concept designs and photographs from various George Lucas projects.[1] Lucasfilm employee Leland Chee, who maintains the Holocron continuity database, has indicated that information contained in the book is non-canonical[2] with respect to the Star Wars Legends continuity.[3]
