Dennion was a human spy for the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War against the Galactic Empire. They were conscripted by the Empire to fight against insurgents on their homeworld, initially believing they needed to conform in order to survive. However, after the deaths of friends who stood against the Empire, Dennion left to join the Rebellion. Dennion led a mission in Canto Bight to rescue fellow rebel Asara Deyn from the mansion of Sliro Barsha of the Zerek Besh syndicate, recruiting the scoundrel Kay Vess to break into the building. After Vess demanded payment upfront following Deyn's rescue, unconvinced by the rebels' cause, they stunned her and left her behind.[1]
Biography
Imperial service and defection
During the Imperial Era, Dennion was conscripted into the Galactic Empire to fight against insurgents on their homeworld. While Dennion initially believed they needed to conform for the sake of survival, their beliefs changed after the deaths of their friends, who stood up to the Empire. Following this, Dennion defected and joined the Alliance to Restore the Republic.[1]
Rescuing Asara Deyn
In 3 ABY, months after the Battle of Hoth, Dennion was coordinating a rescue of Twi'lek and fellow rebel Asara Deyn, who was locked in the vault of Westhill Palace, a mansion owned by the Zerek Besh crime lord and Imperial Security Bureau director Sliro Barsha. Aided by several other rebels and enlisting the aid of Human scoundrel Kay Vess, they attacked Westhill Palace. Assaulting the outer walls, the distraction allowed Kay Vess, armed with the codes to unlock the vault, to enter the palace and fight her way to the vault.
Kay successfully unlocked the vault, but was under the belief that the goal was to steal credits and was unaware that Dennion was a rebel. Kay was surprised when the vault the codes opened held Asara. Dennion and the other rebels soon arrived to meet Dennion, but Kay held them at gunpoint and demanded payment. While Asara tried to convince Kay to join the Alliance, Dennion, believing there wasn't any time for that, decided to stun Kay before the rebels fled the palace.[1]
Later encounters
Dennion would later encounter Kay Vess again when the latter accidentally discovered their hidden Rebel base on the Outer Rim jungle planet Akiva while searching for parts to repair her damaged BX-series commando droid, ND-5. Dennion apologized to Kay, saying their first take on her was mistaken. Kay, however, said she wasn't interested in talking about it, saying things may have been different if Dennion had been truthful about the goal of the heist.
When Kay Vess, her crew, and Asara were later escaping from the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Revelator, Asara attempted to contact Dennion and the base, warning them that the Empire knew where they were and telling them they needed to leave. After witnessing this, Kay was convinced not to flee the battle aboard the Trailblazer, and instead turn around again to fight the Revelator, while sending out a distress beacon to call for aid from a crime syndicate she was in good standing with. Dennion would speak to Vess and many others throughout the battle. These efforts were successful, and with the aid of syndicate starfighters summoned by Kay and Rebel T-65B X-wing starfighters called in by Dennion, the Revelator was destroyed, saving the Akiva base.[1]
