The Delta-6 system defense starfighter, also known more simply as the Delta-6 starfighter was a model of venerable starfighter with aerospace superiority capabilities. It had a long, narrow, arrowhead-shaped fuselage with two light laser cannons mounted forward and a small, cramped, bubble-canopied cockpit mounted far aft over the engine.[2]
Kuat Systems Engineering's Delta-7 Aethersprite-class light interceptor was descended from the Delta-6, but was larger and longer, with more powerful and higher-output engines, more responsive controls for greater agility, a more powerful combat avionics suite, and improved targeting and life support systems compared to the older starship.[2]
Behind the scenes
The Delta-6 system defense starfighter was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in Rise of the Separatists, a 2019 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars roleplaying products.[2] It was originally created for the Star Wars Legends continuity, where the it first appeared in the 2002 novel Star Wars Adventures 3: The Hostage Princess, which was written by Ryder Windham.[4]
