This article covers a subject that was cut from the final version of a Star Wars Legends source. The subject appeared in no other source and was therefore considered non-canon within the Legends continuity.

The Deep Charting Expedition was an expedition made by the Republic scout ship Spotrunner, leading into the depths of the Unknown Regions. At some point a Mnggal-Mnggal outbreak occurred on the ship. According to a log recording by an unidentified crew member, a man called Covan was the first victim, followed by a person called Eelia. Also the lone surviving crew member stated that he would commit suicide in order to prevent this plague from infesting him. Nothing more has been heard from the expedition since.
