"Death of a Hero" was initially published in the fifth issue of the fanzine, NorthCoast Roleplaying before being released, in an edited format, in Space Gamer/Fantasy Gamer Volume 2, Number 1.[1] The article was later referenced by Glen Allison's Voyages SF article, "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, How I Wonder Where We Are".[2]
