A garrison of the Imperial Army of the Galactic Empire was stationed on the Death Star and commanded by Chief of the Imperial Army General Cassio Tagge. The garrison was as fully equipped as other planetary garrisons, and the garrison, along with its Imperial officers and stormtrooper battalions were not part of the Death Star's BSO structure. The garrison was headquartered in the Death Star's southern hemisphere.[1]
