The Dawferim Selfhood States,[3] also know as the Dawferm Selfhood States, were a group composed of several star systems.[1] They included the Daupherm system,[2] which was situated in the Southern Core portion of the Core Worlds.[4] The Dawferim Selfhood States shared their name with the Dawferim, a Human group that controlled more than thirty systems in the Daupherm Planet States region of the Core Worlds.[4]
In the six years following the Battle of Endor,[1] between 4 ABY and 10 ABY,[4] the systems of the Dawferim Selfhood States grouped together and formed a protective federation due to the lack of a centralized galactic government and the ongoing conflict between the Galactic Empire and the New Republic.[1]
Behind the scenes
- "What the hell are the Botor Enclave and the Dawferm Selfhood States?"
- ―Daniel Wallace
The Dawferm Selfhood States were first mentioned in the Dark Empire Sourcebook, Michael Allen Horne's 1993 sourcebook published by West End Games for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[1] They were later identified as the Dawferim Selfhood States in The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia, a 2008 reference book written by Stephen J. Sansweet and Pablo Hidalgo.[3]
In August 2007, Daniel Wallace stated in his blog that he and Jason Fry planned to make a reference to the Dawferm Selfhood States and the Botor Enclave in The Essential Atlas.[5] However, the 2009 reference book ultimately did not mention the Dawferm Selfhood States.[4]
In April 2023, Fry confirmed that the Daupherm system was the the origin point of both the Daupherm Planet States and the Dawferim Selfhood States.[2]
