- ―Capin Harinar writes of a self-destructing droid in a report
A data recorder was a device used to record data. The Imperial Viper probe droid XJ9-CS14 possessed a data recorder, but it was destroyed[1] in 3 ABY[2] on the planet Hoth when the droid self-destructed after an altercation with the rebel Captain Han Solo.[3]
