At some point between approximately 5000 BBY and many years prior to 1032 BBY,[1] an individual trained the Duros Darth Caldoth—whose career spanned centuries—as a member of the Sith order of Force-users. Per Sith tradition, Caldoth eventually caused the death of his master, and the latter's body came to lie deep in the crypts of a ruined sacred Sith temple on a long-abandoned moon. Much later, Caldoth abandoned his own apprentice, Ry Nymbis, inside the same temple as part of a trial for him.[2]
Behind the scenes
Darth Caldoth's master was mentioned in "Gaze of Stone," a short story written by George Mann and included in the 2019 collection Myths & Fables.[2]

Notes and references
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 During the flashback events of "Gaze of Stone," Darth Caldoth is a Sith Lord who, during the events of the follow-up story "The Gilded Cage," is known to the Jedi Order. Therefore, the events of the story must take place after the formation of the Sith and before their supposed extinction. As Star Wars: Timelines dates those events to around 5000 BBY and 1032 BBY, respectively, "Gaze of Stone" must take place between those two dates, with the portion of the story mentioning the long-ago death of Caldoth's master furthermore being set many years prior to the conclusion of the story's flashbacks.
