Behind the scenes
- "What is it about Daro Willits that screams "unsigned musician"?"
- ―Daniel Wallace
Daro Willits first appeared in the 2002 prequel trilogy film Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones.[6] The Outlander Club scenes including Willits, who was portrayed by an uncredited extra,[6] were shot at Fox Studios, Sydney on July 17, 2000.[9] Prior to the film's release, the character was first pictured in the documentary "A Twinkle Beyond Pluto,"[10] released on July 31, 2001.[11] Willits was first identified through the StarWars.com Image Attack feature on May 12, 2003.[1]
In the article "Who's Who in the Outlander Club: It's Ladies' Night," published in the seventy-fifth issue of Star Wars Insider[2] on April 6, 2004,[12] author Daniel Wallace mentioned Willits and asked why he resembles an unsigned musician. Wallace also brought up the character's outfit, describing it as every bit as pretentious as the outfit Immi Danoo, another character in the Outlander Club scene, wears.[2]
