- "The grudge goes back to an incident in the Dalcretti system, when both team captains were members of an Imperial Army unit cut off by Rebel insurgents."
- ―A news report included in the fiftieth-anniversary edition of Galladinium's Galactic Datalog of Fantastic Technology
The Dalcretti system was situated in the Inner Rim and lay on the super-hyperroute known as the Perlemian Trade Route. The route linked it to the Taanab and Tirahnn systems and served as the dividing line between the Northern Dependencies and the Slice regions.[1]
According to rumors, during the Galactic Civil War[2] and between 2 BBY and 1 ABY,[3] an incident occurred in the Dalcretti system in which Rebel Alliance insurgents cut off a unit of the Galactic Empire's Army. One of the unit's members, Demelza Mintori, supposedly failed to render assistance to the platoon of fellow soldier Madrix Hansor, leading the latter to swear vengeance against Mintori. The enmity between the two carried on to when both became team captains in the Core Gladiator Walker League and continued for at least two years. The Dalcretti system's rumored role in the feud was eventually noted in a news report that was included in the fiftieth-anniversary edition of Galladinium's Galactic Datalog of Fantastic Technology.[2]
Behind the scenes
The Dalcretti system was first mentioned in Galladinium's Fantastic Technology, a 1995 sourcebook authored by Rick D. Stuart for use with West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[2] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed it in grid square O-8.[1]
