- "What are we going to do? R2 and C-3PO have not returned with the jogan fruit for the cake."
- ―A baker droid
The DG-1B catering droid,[4] also known as the baker droid, was a model of service droid, programmed to cater during social events. During the Clone Wars, Senator Padmé Amidala of the Galactic Republic made use of a baker droid to aid in the preparation of a jogan fruitcake for a gathering she would be holding in honor of Senator Aang. As the cake still lacked its jogan fruit garnish, Amidala dispatched her droids to purchase some. As the gathering began before their arrival with the jogans, the baker droid questioned as to what they were going to do.[3]
The droids had blue sensors, masculine programming, and wore a white apron.[3]
Behind the scenes
- "When you were told you'd be a baker droid, how did you decide to do the voice?"
"I saw a rough sketch of what the droid looked like, but I didn't want to have that influence me too much. I actually tried to do a robot voice, and then they reminded me that they have a digital processor to do that sort of thing." - ―Bonnie Burton and Duff Goldman

The baker droid appeared in "Evil Plans," the eighth episode of the animated television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars' third season, which aired on November 5, 2010.[6] The baker droid in the episode was portrayed by celebrity chef Duff Goldman, of the television show Ace of Cakes.[5] The show had previously focused on episode on crafting an R2-D2 cake for the wrap party of The Clone Wars' second season.[7] While at Lucasfilm, Goldman was asked to voice the baker droid in "Evil Plans."[5] The frame look similar to the 2-1B surgical droid.
