The DC-17m Interchangeable Weapon System,[1] also known as the DC-17m Repeating Blaster Rifle,[5] DC-17m ICWS Blaster Carbine,[6] or DC-17M ICWS for short,[7] was a type of reconfigurable repeating blaster rifle used by Republic clone commandos during the Clone Wars and the early days of the Empire.[1] It could change between a repeating blaster rifle and grenade launcher by switching the weapon's barrel module.[8] Other configurations included a sniper mode identified as the "Sniper Config" and an anti-armor mode known as the "Anti-Armor Config."[2]

The weapon was also used by pirates from Hondo Ohnaka's gang.[3]

Behind the scenes

"And I busted out the original game sound for Scorch's DC17 that I made 18 years years [sic] ago."
―David W. Collins[9]

The DC-17m Interchangeable Weapon System made its first prominent canon appearance in "Missing in Action," a 2013 episode for the TV series Star Wars: The Clone Wars,[10] though it was previous seen held by an unnamed pirate in the episode "A Test of Strength"[3] and a background clone trooper on board the Negotiator in "Bound for Rescue". The blaster was identified in the 2018 reference book Star Wars: The Complete Visual Dictionary, New Edition.[1] The blaster first appeared in the Star Wars Legends 2005 video game Star Wars: Republic Commando.[11]
