A species of cybernetic spiders that fed on power sources was created by the Imperial scientist Cylo in the early months of Emperor Palpatine's reign. At some point, the bounty hunter Shalla Mondatha, better known as "the Shade," was tasked with transporting crates containing such spiders, but the creatures took over her ship.^[1]
