A Crystalline macrobinocular lens was a type of optical instrument originally developed to observe distant galaxies.[1] By 3 ABY,[2] they had started being used to enhance analysis of starship sensors to better determine weak points.[1]
In 3 ABY,[2] Kay Vess was awarded a set of lens by the Miyuki Trade League after completing a smuggling contract for them.[1]
Behind the scenes
The crystalline macrobinocular lens first appeared in the "A Pirate's Fortune" expansion for the Massive Entertainment video game Star Wars Outlaws,[1] which was released on May 15, 2025.[3] They were a collectable "passive system" ship upgrade that players would be awarded by completing quests for Miyuki Trade League. The upgrade increased the damage that the player's ship weapons did to weapoints on enemy ships.[1]
