The crystal skull was the skull of an alien. During the Clone Wars, the Trandoshan headhunter Garnac hung it on his wall of trophies.[1] By the time of the Battle of Yavin, the skull was in the possession of Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina on Tatooine, where it was kept in the underground catacombs.[2]
Behind the scenes
The crystal skulls with the same design are the focus of the fourth Indiana Jones movie, The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which was also produced by George Lucas. This crystal skull has the same design as in the movie.
