Coruscant rodents were a type of rodent native to[1] the Core Worlds planet[2] Coruscant and liked to eat the flowers within the gardens of the Jedi Order's Jedi Temple. On at least one occasion after the Alcedian Jedi youngling Tep Tep arrived at the Jedi Temple after leaving the Outer Rim planet Valo[1] in 229 BBY,[3] the human Jedi youngling Jamil Sollis found Tep Tep[1]—who had a special Force connection to animals[4]—playing with the rodents.[1]
In 228 BBY,[5] as Sollis went to find Tep Tep in the Temple, he mentally noted that if he did not find her playing with the Coruscant rodents, he would find her in the youngling dormitories or within the cargo hold of the research ship Innovator in a hangar. He found the Alcedian in the cargo hold.[1]
Behind the scenes
Coruscant rodents were mentioned in the 2024 junior novel The High Republic: Beware the Nameless, written by Zoraida Córdova and published as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase III.[6]

- ↑ The High Republic: Beware the Nameless establishes that Tep Tep was stationed at the Coruscant Jedi Temple after she departed Valo, an event depicted in The High Republic: Escape from Valo. The events of Escape from Valo take place one year after the destruction of Starlight Beacon, which equates to 229 BBY per Star Wars: The High Republic Character Encyclopedia.

- ↑ Star Wars: Timelines dates Starlight Beacon's destruction to 230 BBY. The implementation of the Guardian Protocols, which Star Wars: The High Republic Character Encyclopedia places in 229 BBY, took place one week after Starlight Beacon's fall according to The High Republic – Shadows of Starlight 1. As The High Republic: Beware the Nameless takes place one and a half years after the destruction of Starlight Beacon, it must be set in 228 BBY.
