The Coruscant Health Office was a health agency active on the planet Coruscant during the reign of the Galactic Republic. It controlled outbreaks of disease effectively in the world's spaceports, where they were frequent due to the risk of contagion. However, the quarantine restrictions enacted by the office slowed down the already complicated process of managing the constant flow of new arrivals into Coruscant, which acted as a nexus for many different worlds.[1]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, the Coruscant Health Office was mentioned in "Coruscant," an entry in De Agostini's Star Wars Encyclopedia series[1] that was released on February 9, 2021.[2] The Coruscant Health Office originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in HoloNet News Vol. 531 #49,[3] a March 28, 2002[4] issue published on the HoloNet News website.[3] The article was written by Pablo Hidalgo and Paul Ens.[5]
