- "These beasts are nearly mindless, Anakin. I can feel it."
- ―Obi-Wan Kenobi
Corpse-leeches were a species of non-sentient carnivores native to Carnelion IV. They were distinguished by their six eyes, red skin, and wings.
Description
Corpse-Leechers were humanoid like carnivores that inhabited the open mountains on Carnelion IV. They often attacked both the Open and the Closed and forced them to move to their mountain bases and to use Airships for travel.[1]
History
Corpse leeches were not native to Carnelion IV prior to the war between the Opens and the Closed. Due to the toxic gases and bio weapons that destroyed the world, many humans were mutated into Corpse-Leeches.[2]
While on Carnelion IV, Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi , his Padawan, Anakin Skywalker, Grecker, Pran, and Kolara were attacked by corpse-leeches. Kenobi ordered Anakin to merely redirect the creatures instead of killing them, saying that they should not die simply for being in their way. However, Skywalker struggled to push them back and slew several creatures with his lightsaber.[1]
