"Don't forget we have dinner with the Governor-General tonight at Corona House."
Leia Organa Solo[2]

Corona House, also known as Coronet House, was the historical residence of Corellia's chief executive.

Description

"I was about to suggest that there is a small, a small landing pad and hangar complex here, on the roof of Corona House."
―Micamberlecto[2]

Corona House was a building situated in the heart of Coronet City on a two-hundred acre plot of land. The building was at least eighteen stories tall. The sixth floor contained the private study of the chief executive, while the upper floors were guest rooms and suites for visitors, with the roof containing a small landing pad and hangar complex.[2] The grounds of the facility was a vast public park and was used for weddings and public events.[1]

History

Galactic Civil War

During the reign of the Galactic Empire, Corona House was occupied by Diktat Daclif Gallamby.[3] Around 12 ABY, Corellia joined the New Republic and Gallamby was replaced with a New Republic-appointed Governor-General, Micamberlecto, who occupied Corona House, as well.[2]

First Corellian Insurrection

In 18 ABY, a human-supremacist group called the Human League began holding nightly torch-light marches around Corona House where they sang anti-alien and anti-New Republic songs, started fights, and broke windows on nearby buildings. During this time, New Republic Chief of State Leia Organa Solo and her family stayed at Corona House while Organa Solo attended a trade summit.[2] An insurrection started by the Human League began, in which they fired a rocket at Corona House, damaging floors eight to fifteen. Though Organa Solo's family managed to escape, she was held captive in a bedroom on the eighteenth floor when the Human League captured the building. The Governor-General was executed, his staff were mostly killed, and the building was extensively looted.[3]

The League set up barracks on either the sixteenth or seventeenth floor, where they prepared food for the prisoners they held inside of the guest rooms, though some members slept on the fifteenth floor, despite its damage. Eventually, Organa Solo was given smuggler Mara Jade as a cellmate, who had also been taken prisoner, as Jade had gotten into a fight with her previous cellmate when the latter accused the former of being a League sympathizer. The two tied bedsheets together and rappelled out of the window to the sixteenth floor. The pair then made their way down to the fifteenth floor to retrieve Leia's lightsaber, after which they continued downstairs to Jade's former room on the twelfth floor, where she had been previously staying before the insurrection, as it contained a slave controller to her ship.[3]

As they made their way to Jade's old room, their escape was discovered and Human League members began searching for them. After retrieving the controller, Organa Solo and Jade stepped outside onto the window's ledge to hide as the room was searched by two Human League members. While Jade attempted to pilot her ship to them with the controller, one of the League troopers stuck their head outside the window and fired his blaster, prompting Organa Solo to decapitate him with her lightsaber, alerting the other one, who threw a mini-detonator at them. Organa Solo caught it on her blade and flipped it back into the room, where it exploded. More League members began firing at them out of nearby windows, as their position was given away, but Jade's ship arrived not long after, and the two were able to board it and escape.[3]
