Cooling sleeves were weapon components used on repeating blasters[1] and laser cannons. They were designed to dissipate the heat build-up generated by the firing of the weapon Starfighters such as Incom Corporation's T-65 X-wing starfighter had cooling sleeves located at the base of each craft's laser cannon,[2] while repeating blasters such as a E-Web heavy repeating blaster had cooling sleeves located halfway along the barrel, behind the flashback suppressor.[1]
