A contingency sphere was a Imperial technological artifact that could be used as a source of power.
Properties
Contingency spheres were black, one meter diameter spheres built to contain compacted energy. One single sphere could provide enough power to supply several Star Destroyers. They were also equipped with an auxiliary navigation computer.[1]
History
At some point during the Galactic Civil War, one such device was used by a psychopathic changeling known as Hydra in order to locate and power up the Nocturnô, a forgotten Death Star prototype. This specific sphere was recovered from the wreck of an Imperial-class Star Destroyer.[1]
