A comm unit scrambler, comlink scrambler or comm scrambler was a type of encryption technology that was smaller and less sophisticated than an encryption module. Comm scramblers were built into a variety of technology, such as starfighters. Coruscant Guard armor was equipped with a helmet comlink scrambler so that Coruscant Guard units could stay in touch without outside interference.[1]
A force of Alliance agents and Sessehshellah stole a scrambler while infiltrating a power plant. It allowed them to access the local Imperial transmissions networks.[2]
