- "But a true fisher knows that a pocketful of luck is more important than some cod migration pattern!"
- ―Skoova Stev
Cod was a type of fish with white meat. It was used as an ingredient in Crait Crusted Cod, a dish created by the Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs to showcase the salt from the planet Crait. The cod was baked in the salt until the meat browned, after which the salt crust was shattered before the dish was served. Tuggs described the meal as moist and tender if baked to perfection and included a recipe for it in his second cookbook, The Life Day Cookbook, which was released at some point after his first cookbook[1] in 34 ABY.[3]
Behind the scenes
Cod was introduced to Star Wars canon in the 2021 Star Wars: The Life Day Cookbook, a recipe book written by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak. The out-of-universe recipe for the dish uses fillets of cod.[1]
