Clams were mollusks with two shells that could close together to protect the creature's soft body. Numerous species existed on several worlds.
A "clambake" was also a slang term for a blaster-fight.
The Sessehshellah, the native species of the planet Shaymore, used sharpened clam shells attached to sticks as weapons.[2]
