Cinzero Gann was a Human who served the Galactic Empire. After Emperor Palpatine declared his Empire in 19 BBY, Gann was made Grand Moff of Sector 5 and assumed the role of commander of the Fifth Deep Core Army based at Odik II. The Fifth Army was a reserve army garrisoning the Deep Core, and many of its assets were shifted to busier theaters in relatively short order, leaving skeleton forces behind.[2]
In the aftermath of the Battle of Endor, Admiral Yzu declared himself an Imperial warlord and awarded Foga Brill the title of Moff. Brill cultivated influence under Gann, who had became Yzu's political lackey, until Yzu was killed at Tsoss Beacon, a victim of Admiral Daala's mass murder of the region's ranking warlords. In the power vacuum, Brill shrewdly promoted Gann as a figurehead ruler to succeed Yzu.[3]
He remained in power as late as 18 ABY, by which date he was one of the highest-ranking survivors of the Old Empire. However, Gann held little power and was a mere puppet ruler for Brill, the governor of the fortress world of Prakith. His forces joined with those of Foga Brill and Jmanuel Tethys, forming the Second Imperium.[source?]
