- "I'm going to freeze my choobies off."
"There are easier ways to switch genders, you know."
"I didn’t mean I wanted to freeze 'em off. I just meant–it's so cold." - ―Thane Kyrell complaining to Dak Ralter about the frozen climate of Hoth
Choobies was a slang term for testicles.[1] It was also used as a metaphor for courage and confidence: After downing a glass of Port in a Storm, Greer Sonnel proudly asked, "How's that for choobies?"[2]
The phrase "pain in the choobies" referred to someone that is very annoying.[3]
Behind the scenes
The word "choobies" is akin to the vulgar real-world term "balls," which in a literal sense refers to testicles, but is also used as a rude term for bravery and self-assurance.[4]
"Pain in the choobies"[3] is similar to the real-world offensive idiom "pain in the ass/butt."[5]
