"Chewie's Holiday Cheer Up" is a non-canon animated LEGO short released on December 12, 2023 as part of the LEGO STAR WARS: Celebrate the Season series.[1]

Official description

Noticing that Chewbacca is disappointed to not celebrate Life Day with his family, Han rallies the rebels at Yavin base to surprise Chewbacca with a Life Day celebration of their own.[1]

Plot summary

On Life Day, a sad Chewbacca reflects on a hologram image of his family including his father Attichitcuk, wife Mallatobuck, and son Lumpawaroo. He places his Life Day Orb on the cabinet. Han Solo notices that the Wookiee is sad and gathers his fellow rebels Leia Organa, Luke Skywalker, C-3PO and R2-D2 at the rebel command room at the Great Temple on Yavin 4. Solo convinces his friends to help him cheer up Chewbacca.

Putting their plans into actions, they and the other rebels gather outside a large tree in the jungles of Yavin 4. C-3PO and R2-D2 also borrow several electrical lanterns. Princess Leia briefs several rebels about decorations before they depart. In the cafeteria, Solo and a rebel trooper make plans for food.

Later, Chewbacca finds the rebel base deserted. Departing the Great Temple, he finds a path of electrical lamps which leads him to a forest clearing. There, his rebel comrades have thrown a surprise Life Day celebration by hanging several Life Day Orbs. Chewbacca is amazed and grateful that his rebel comrades care for him. After hanging his Life Day orb, he roars joyfully.
