Cheese blossoms were a type of food made with cheese that was edible by humans.[1] Around 19 BBY,[2] the spy Chemish Runazha spent time waiting in the safe house they and their mentor, the Imperial Intelligence spy Haki Zeophrine, shared, listlessly trying to decide what to do with their life after several tumultuous events. One night, they decided to venture out of the house and bought some cheese blossoms from a street cart before returning to their lodgings.[1]

Cheese blossoms were mentioned in the 2025 novel Reign of the Empire: The Mask of Fear, written by Alexander Freed as the first installment of the Star Wars: Reign of the Empire trilogy.[1]

Therefore, the events of Edge of the Abyss must be set in 6 BBY, and the events of The Mask of Fear in 19 BBY.
