Chashima was a temperate and forested planet with fields of drymoss in the Chashima system of the Auril sector.[1] During the Yuuzhan Vong War, the extragalactic Yuuzhan Vong set up a research facility for shapers working on the commbuzzer, a type of beetle designed to home in on comlink transmissions. The facility was sabotaged in 29 ABY by Wraith Squadron, but the operation came at the cost of Wraiths Estoric Sandskimmer and Hohass Ekwesh.[3]

Chashima made its first appearance in the 2012 novel X-Wing: Mercy Kill, written by Aaron Allston.[3]
