Chardaan was an Inner Rim world that lay at the intersection of the Hydian Way and Shipwrights' Trace.[3] The planet was orbited by the Chardaan Shipyards.[4]

History

During the Clone Wars, Chardaan was the headquarters for the Republic 16th Sector Army and the capital of the Pallis Oversector.[6] The planet thus became the capital of Imperial Grand Moff Coy.[6][5]

During the Galactic Civil War, the Rebel Alliance managed to infiltrate the planet.[5] The Rebels used these yards to build some of the RZ-1 A-wing interceptors used in the Battle of Endor.[7]

Later, the New Republic used the same shipyards to build not only A-wings, but Y-wings, X-wings, B-wings, and E-wings. The shipyards were attacked and destroyed by Colonel Ivan Cronus in 12 ABY.[4]
