Chalm Plesk was embedded with the New Republic Defense Fleet when Grand Admiral Thrawn returned to the galaxy.
Chalm Plesk was a historian from the University of Coruscant who was embedded with the New Republic Defense Fleet when Grand Admiral Thrawn returned to the galaxy[2] around 9 ABY[3] after being trapped in a far galaxy.[4] Plesk then spent years trying to publish his planned work: The Last War Against the Galactic Empire: On Deployment with the New Republic Fleet, which was highly anticipated, but various figures in the military refused to allow its publication.[2]
A file relating to Plesk's work titled Notice Prohibiting Publication #1310 was stored in the "Military Intelligence" section of the New Republic Archives. Plesk eventually took his case to the New Republic Senate on the Republic's capital, Hosnian Prime, but perished there when the First Order destroyed the Hosnian system[2] in 34 ABY.[1] In 35 ABY,[5] the historian Beaumont Kin mentioned Plesk in[2] his[6] own book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, calling the fellow's historian's death a tragedy and stating that he hoped copies of Plesk's planned work still existed somewhere so that they could be released.[2]
Behind the scenes
Chalm Plesk was mentioned in the 2024 reference book Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, which was written by Dr. Chris Kempshall.[2]
