Chall Bekan was a Force-attuned Morseerian male who lived during the Galactic Civil War. As a leader, he had connections to the Galactic Empire's government on[1] the planet[2] Tatooine.[1] Bekan maintained a network of alien agents, which he used to keep surveillance on both[3] the crime lord[4] Jabba the Hutt and the Alliance to Restore the Republic.[3]

Bekan was a methane breather who wore an environment suit and a breath mask,[1] both of which were worn by his species in low-methane environments.[5]

Behind the scenes

Chall Bekan was created for 1998's Official Tournament Sealed Deck of Decipher's Star Wars Customizable Card Game.[1] In 2024, the user Karlemayne on the fan site Wookieepedia mentioned being Chuck Kallenbach, who worked as Decipher's game designer at the time of the Official Tournament Sealed Deck being released. Karlemayne said Bekan was named as an anagram of Kallenbach's surname,[6] and Kallenbach later confirmed on his Twitter account that he was indeed Karlemayne, thus confirming Chall Bekan was named after him.[7]
