Cavetroopers were a variant of stormtroopers who were trained to operate in various cave-like geographical areas. They used a lighter version of armor, similar to that of scout troopers and carried blaster carbines and long-bladed vibroknives.
A unit of cavetroopers were part of the rapid reaction force on Phemis under the command of Ironarm, guarding the forbidden rubat crystals.

The cavetroopers appear in Fantasy Flight Games' 2015 roleplaying game adventure, Hidden Depths.
