A cartouche was a motif featured in the architecture of the ninety-ninth floor of the Imperial Palace on Coruscant. This level was sparsely decorated and mostly consisted of white walls, with the occasional columnar cartouche and linteled doorway. Haninum Tyk Rhinann approved of the design, since less embellishment meant less chance of indecourousness.[1]
Behind the scenes
In real-life, a cartouche is an illustration or piece of stone resembling an unrolled scroll, often with writing on it and used as a decorative element.[2]
