Byl, designated 0037, was a clone trooper who served in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars.[2] As a male clone of bounty hunter Jango Fett, Byl was born on the planet Kamino, had tan skin, and stood at 1.83 meters tall.[1] Byl was acquainted with fellow troopers 2720, 1137, and 1139. When 1139 wanted a name rather than being referred to by a designation number, 1139 came up with the names "Fil" and "Byl." 1137 then stated that those names were already taken by the troopers who they knew as 2720 and 0037 last week.[2]

Behind the scenes

Byl was mentioned in the animated comic "A clone by any other name" on the LEGO Star Wars website, released on August 21, 2009.[2]
