Bruckman was a Corellian male who served the Rebellion as a sergeant during the Galactic Civil War. He was assigned to be point man for General Han Solo's strike team during the Battle of Endor. He was recruited by General Crix Madine for the Alliance. Bruckman was among the Rebel commandos who entered the Endor shield generator bunker before being captured by the Imperial Tempest Force. However, the intervention of Ewoks—the Alliance's newfound allies—helped turn the tide of the battle to the advantage of the Rebel strike team.
Biography
The human male Bruckman joined the Rebellion sometime prior to the year 4 ABY, after being recruited by general Crix Madine. By that time he was already a seasoned scout and had obtained the rank of sergeant.[1] During that year, the Allaince discovered that the Empire were constructing a new battlestation above the forest moon of the planet Endor. Since the Alliance was aware of the planetary shield generator protecting the battlestation, they needed to disable before they could launch a full-scale attack. Thus, a strike team was formed by general Han Solo which consisted of several expirienced scouts, commandos and communications specialists.[2] Bruckman was among them, and he specifically served a sa point-man for the squad.[1]
Bruckman and the rest of the strike team were transported to the Endor system via a stolen Imperial Lambda shuttle, the Tydirium. They managed to successfully evade the Imperial blockade using a stolen Imperial clearance code, and access was granted. They then landed on the forest moon. After general Solo had a run-in with some scout troopers who were patrolling the area, a speeder bike chase ensued between the strike team's command crew, which included Luke Skywalker and Leia organa and the Imperial scouts. Ultimately, Organa was knocked off her speeder bike, and all of the couts were either killed or incapacitated.[2]
Since Organa was missing, Solo and Skywalker began searching for her, but before doing so, Solo told the strike team to regroup again near the shield bunker at approximately 0300 hours, and the strike team set off, spearheaded by Major Bren Derlin. Several times along the way, the strike team stumbled across Imperial patrols scanning the area. They managed to stay hidden, but their cover was nearly blown when Corporal Delevar, a junior member of the strike team attempted to take a potshot at a speeder bike, but he was stooped and reprimanded by major Derlin.[3]
When night fell, Bruckman and the other scouts set up camp in a shallow ravine, posting two sentires and setting up a Blanket grid with their scanning equipment. Shortly after their first sleeping shift, the scanning equipment detetcted an All Terrain scout transport heading towards the camp. Two members of the strike team, Corporal Dansra Beezer and lieuteanant Greeve, jammed the walker's transmission and knocked out it's spotlights with a sniper rifle, and the squad encricled the walker in order to keep it off balance. Immediatly after, corporal Delever launched a smoke canister into the walker's cockpit and the crew, effectively blinded by the smoke started shooting at trees and foliage, before eventually surrendering to the squad. The strike team captured the pilot's and forced them to make a comm check-in at blasterpoint. The squad continued onwards towards the shield bunker, forcing the walker pilot to make several more check-ins to explain the walker's absence.[3]
Solo and the rest of the command team, having allied themselves with the ewok tribe of Bright Tree Village, rejoined the group, and proceeded towards a path that led to the shield generator bunker's back door. When they arrived, a few Imperial scout troopers were gurading the entrance. One of the ewok's, Paploo, decided to ambush one of their speeder bikes. This alarmed the the scouts who mounted their own speeder bikes and started chasing the ewok hijacker. One of them stayed behind, and after seeing Han Solo he sprinted towards him, only to fall into a trap stopping directly in front of the strike team. [2]
They managed to infiltrate the bunker, and after abrief skirmish with some stormtroopers managed to get into the control room, and capture the Imperial personnel who were present. However, this didn't last very long as Imperial reinforcements led by Lieutenant Renz cornered the Rebel infiltrators. General Solo, along with Organa and the rest of the strike team, including Bruckman were escorted out of the shield bunker. And in front of them was an entire battalion of troopers, scouts, walkers and speeder bikes. Bruckman surveyed the many Imperials with concerned look on his face.[2]
However, the Imperials soon found themselves orrounded by a numbe of ewok warriors and a vicious and deadly battle ensued, though the Alliance in the end managed to quash the Imperial forces and re-entered the siled bunker, and General Solo and members of the squad proceeded to place a number of 7-PrG proton grenade's[4] across the bunker, and set them to explode. Altough they were nearly sabotaaged by the storm commando Sarkli,[5] they managed to exit the bunker just in time, and it subsequently exploded, disabling the shiled generator, which eventually led to the destruction of the Imperial battlestation.[2]
Personality and traits
Bruckman had light skin and blue eyes.[2] He was an expirienced scout by the time of the Battle of Endor, and because of his skills as a point man, he was selected to be amember of General Solo's strike team.[1]
Equipment
As a member of the Endor strike team, Bruckman wore the forest camouflage gear that the rest of the squad members utilized.[2]
